Since last three years, we all have been participating in the collective chanting of Shree Aniruddha Chalisa at Shri Harigurugram. This year too the programme of chanting of Shree Aniruddha Chalisa would be held on Sunday, 12th October, 2014 at Shree Harigurugram. We all are indeed extremely fortunate to get this golden opportunity of participating in this chanting.

All Shraddhavan friends of Sadguru Bapu are cordially invited for the ceremony.

The proceedings of the chanting will commence at around 9.00 am, with the arrival of Padchinnha and the idol of Param Poojya Sadguru Bapu. This will be followed by the chanting of Aanhik, Shree Aadimata Shubhankara Stavanam and 9 Vachane of Sadguru Bapu, after which the chanting of Shree Aniruddha Chalisa would commence.

Every Shraddhavan would get an opportunity to offer Bilwapatra and Tulsipatra on the ‘Padchinnha’ of Param Pujya Bapu, Nandai and Suchitdada.

Chanting Shri Aniruddha Chalisa helps us in reinforcing our faith “एक विश्‍वास असावा पुर्ता, करता हरता गुरू ऎसा“. I I am sure most of the Shraddhavan friends of Bapu would make an effort to attend this extremely important chanting.

Dr. Nikola Tesla – Father of Humanoid Robotics

Every human born on planet earth is blessed with talent and individuality. It is something that no one can take away from him. Wealth, fame and all material things can be robbed, cheated and taken away but this individuality of his is God’s real gift to him. The desire to succeed in whatever field a person chooses is only met if he feels its need equal to the need of air to breath. This quality was best exemplified in Dr. Nikola Tesla.
Photo-26-Tesla-BoatDr. Nikola Tesla’s desire to do something for his God, science and fellowmen was so great that he was willing to face any difficulty and sacrifice anything to achieve the same. His every thought, every living moment was utilized in the pursuit of making mankind’s life on this planet easier, happier and the inspiration he got for this was by observing nature. We must thank Dr. Nikola Tesla for his vision, efforts and inventions which today are making our life easier and saving our time and efforts.
Since his youth Dr. Nikola Tesla had the habit of analyzing his surroundings and making observations and drawing conclusions on the same. Over a period of time, Dr. Tesla realized that our every thought, feeling or voluntary action has its basis in the stimuli from the external occurrences and impressions in our environment which, we do not register because of the lack of training. A simple example to understand this can be taken in form of the sweet smell of a flower that evokes a feeling of happiness in us while an abuse or insult by others makes us feel hurt. Many of the times we even do not think while doing few things as it become reflex for us e.g. drinking water from a glass.

The Russia – China Gas Deal (Part – II)

(continued from yesterday’s post…) Therefore the entry strategy of Russia into Indo-Pacific region (so far referred as Asia-Pacific region) through signing this deal with China assumes paramount importance for both China and Russia. The developing economies in the Indo-Pacific region bode well for Russia to emerge as the leading supplier of natural gas to the region in the years to come. The deal seems to be the first milestone in the ambitious path of President Putin that puts modernization of the Russian economy through FDI on one hand and integration of the international value chains of manufactured consumer goods on the other on priority as Russia finds itself gradually more alienated from the West.

For Russia, thre dependence on EU nations for revenue from gas exports, is sure to hit more roadblocks in the times to come on issues such as pricing, payment schedules, recovery of past dues etc.; In this context, experts view Russia signing this deal with China as a shrewd political and commercial move ’just in time’ that diversifies the customer base for it. Diplomatically it also strengthens the bond between Russia and China. -

‘The Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation’, a strategic accord was signed between China and Russian for twenty-years in the year 2001. This treaty broadly outlines to serve as a basis for peaceful relations, economic cooperation, as well as diplomatic and geopolitical reliance between the two nations. It also can be seen as an implicit defence understanding pointing at increasing military cooperation, including the sharing of military technology between the two. The treaty also encompasses a mutual, cooperative approach to environmental technology regulations and energy conservation; and toward international finance and trade.
xi-putin-dealIn line with this, a historic gas deal was signed between Russia and China two and half months back on May 21st in Shanghai, the financial capital of China. The deal was reportedly signed between Alexei Miller, Chief Executive Officer of Russian gas behemoth Gazprom and Zhou Jinping, Chairman, Chinese National Petroleum Corporation or CNPC, a Chinese state-owned oil and gas corporation. The deal resumes further significance as it was signed in the presence of Presidents of both, Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping respectively.

Humanist Tesla

Life presents everyone with many ups and downs. Failure in our work, loss of a loved one or even a mere financial loss is sufficient to push the most optimistic individual into depression. Then just imagine how difficult it would be when one has to witness destruction of his dreams, his achievements and everything that he has worked for in his life. It indeed must be utterly devastating. Faced with this, most of the people would lose their sleep, minds and faith in God.

In the last article we have seen Dr. Nikola Tesla facing a similar situation when his Laboratory was on fire. For Dr. Tesla to see all of his achievements, his dreams, his visions being reduced to smoldering rubble must have indeed been heart wrenching. As a result he withdrew himself from public attention. It is said that Dr. Tesla retreated to a countryside church that his mother frequented when she came to America. It was here that Dr. Nikola Tesla was reborn. He realized that God had kept him alive for a purpose and it was this purpose that he needed to fulfill. Rather than to blame God for this devastation, Dr. Tesla thanked God for His divine intervention that saved him. Dr. Tesla believed that God had allowed this to happen for a purpose and that it meant that it needed Dr. Tesla to put a rethought and change the course of his certain actions.

After a month of contemplation, Dr. Tesla returned to New York with a firm resolve to again start from ground-zero and build everything from scratch. This was indeed a humongous task to achieve. His first goal was to construct hydro-electric power generation plant based on alternating current on the Niagara Falls which had been Dr. Tesla’s dream since early life.

Some more honours for Dr. Nikola Tesla

Original article on Samirsinh Dattopadhye's Blog www.aniruddhafriend-samirsinh.com

Dr. Nikola Tesla returned to New York after his Europe tour. With fond memories and the grief of loss of his mother Dr. Tesla again began his experimental work in his laboratory. But soon he overcame and conquered this sorrow. It was the same year of 1892 when Dr. Nikola Tesla actually received two of the most prestigious honours.
Before his return to New York, Dr. Nikola Tesla was invited by Belgrade municipal authorities to the city of Belgrade (capital of Serbia) to address their citizen about his researches. On June 1, 1892, around 11 pm, Dr. Tesla arrived at the Belgrade Railway station. He was greeted by thousands of enthusiastic people at the station itself, all of them have come to see him, and all of them were proud of him and associate him with his inventions as he was the son of soil of Serbia. All the people presented him with flowers and gifts as he walked slowly through them. Everyone was appreciating him and telling them that he was Serbia’s greatest son. There was a specially decorated horse carriage arranged for Dr. Tesla. He was very emotionally touched with this warm welcome and hospitality.
He modestly told everyone that he was fortunate to have fulfilled some of his dreams till that time. But he further felt his goal to be yet far, if all of his ideas come to fruition, and if he could help the humanity through his inventions, he will consider himself to be proud son of Serbia.
On 2nd June 1893, he met the young Serbian King, Alexander Obrenovic. Dr. Nikola Tesla told him that electricity will have to be introduced in Belgrade city. The King was fascinated by Dr. Tesla’s ideas and demonstrations. In the coming year itself i.e. in year 1893, Belgrade city was electrified. It was a huge and widely celebrated event. The Serbian King awarded Dr. Nikola Tesla with the Medal of St. Sava (Order of St. Sava) for extraordinary contribution to science.

The story of  Dr. Nikola Tesla is one of faith, hope and belief. It is a story of what one individual can achieve and how a single person utterly dedicated to his cause and with unwavering faith in God can move mountains and change the world with his efforts.

When we last saw Dr. Tesla at the World Columbian Exposition, the efficacy of the AC transmission system had been proved and even major detractors like Dr. Kelvin had come round to see the potential and benefits of this system over the existing DC transmission system.

In the mean time due to an increase in his popularity following the success of the World Columbian Exposition, Dr. Tesla started becoming famous in the social circles where one day he met Thomas Commerford Martin. Thomas Martin was an American electrical engineer and Editor of Electrical World magazine. Between the years 1883 to 1909 Thomas Martin served as editor of the Electrical World and was a celebrated author. Incidentally he wasalso son of Lord Kelvin. Martin and Dr. Tesla became good friends.Thomas Martin also compiled and edited ‘The Inventions, Researches and Writings of Nikola Tesla’, a book, detailing the work of Dr. Nikola Tesla up to 1893. The book is a record of Tesla’s pioneering activities, research, and works. The book when published was considered ‘Bible’ of every electrical engineer. The book contains Forty-three chapters, most of them on different areas of research and inventions of Dr. Tesla. The first chapter is a brief biography while the next three chapters are transcripts of important lectures of Dr. Tesla. One of these covers his section of Westinghouse’s exhibit at the Chicago World’s Fair. The book would go on to be a landmark in the electrical sciences. Martin and Dr. Tesla both profited from sales of the book, but Dr. Tesla insisted that its copies be given out for free. Dr. Tesla was completely unconcerned with the financial aspect of the book.

In the era where patents are being filed to legally secure ones control and monopoly over businesses and earn maximum profits through publications of one’s thoughts and to market oneself  by getting ones autobiographies published, Dr. Nikola Tesla did the exact opposite. He was concerned neither about the fame nor the profits that came with the book, but was solely concerned with the advancing of science and its beneficial impact on mankind.

During the same period, using Dr. Nikola Tesla’s patents,Westinghouse Company won the bid to build a functioning power plant on the Niagara Falls. This was a great opportunity for Dr. Tesla. At that time Dr. Tesla was using his Tesla Coil as a prototype to be used as a means of communication. Dr. Tesla dreamed to use electric impulses to transmit linguistic words from one corner of the planet to another without wires. By 1893, Dr. Tesla’s theories on the possibility of the transmission of words by radio waves were proved through his lectures and demonstrations at Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania, St. Louis, Missouri, and the National Electric Light Association. Dr. Tesla’s demonstrations and principles were written about widely through various media outlets. Dr. Tesla perfected the technique to transmit messages wirelessly across 50 miles by 1895. But as Dr. Tesla prepared to perfect this technology for the greater good of mankind, a tragedy struck.

1st of May 1893 marked the commencement of the World Columbian Exposition in a grand style and in full swing. There were almost hundred thousand (one lakh) people witnessing this great fair on the very first day. The spectators enjoyed the Exposition throughout the day visiting various places, buildings and special exhibits, and as the night fell, they were amazed as if a casting spell fell at the venue. Those who were present saw to their utter surprise and amazement the vast expense of the fair being magnificently lightened up by a multitude of lights running at full power on AC electricity that Dr. Nikola Tesla had designed. This was the most incredible display of lighting, the world had ever seen till then. This made the electricity building no less than a wonder of the world.

Tesla neon lights
In the articles earlier, we have seen Dr. Nikola Tesla modifying the concept of gas filled tubes by passing electric currents of high-voltage and high-frequency through them. With this Dr. Tesla had crafted specially made gas filled tubes and had bent them in various shapes. Further, he had illuminated them by filling up various gases using high-frequency current. This spread of lights displayed spectacular coloring effects which amazed all the visitors who had come at the Expo. These lights were actual precursors to the neon tubes that we see today everywhere in form of advertising banners and displays.
However, it was only after the late 1980s that more efficient high-frequency ballasts (chokes) and gas-bulbs were developed. These bulbs bare great similarities to the bulbs and lamps developed by Dr. Tesla almost 100 years ago. It thus goes on to prove that Dr. Nikola Tesla laid the foundation for fluorescent lighting.
It was believed that Dr. Nikola Tesla developed and used florescent bulbs in his lab some 40 years before the industry actually so called ’invented’ them and started using them in general practice.
There was one more notable experiment performed by Dr. Tesla in this fair. It was widely known as ‘Tesla and the Egg of Columbus’

We all are witnessing Football World Cup craze at this moment. It is considered to be the world’s largest sporting event after Olympics. 32 nations are participating from all over the world with nearly 550 players actually playing in it. Around millions of spectators are expected to witness live action.
Similarly back in year 1893, there was a huge event held in America with 46 nations and 2.8 crore people participating in it, this was not a sporting event, it was the world’s largest cultural and scientific exhibition of that time. It was known as World Columbian Exposition. Let us briefly what the World Columbian Expo was.
The World’s Columbian Exposition (the official shortened name for the World’s Fair: Columbian Exposition, Chicago) was one huge Fair held in Chicago in year 1893 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ arrival on the American land in 1492. The exposition was located on a huge area of 630 acres. A large water pool representing the long voyage Columbus took to the American continent stood as the iconic centerpiece of the Fair. The fair featured nearly 200 new (temporary) buildings of neoclassical architectures. It included exhibits on agricultural, liberal arts, mining, machinery, electricity, transportation, construction. The fair was also a display of various cultures worldwide.

Dr. Nikola Tesla’s Journey to Europe!

Original article on Samirsinh Dattopadhye's Blog www.aniruddhafriend-samirsinh.com
Samirsinh Dattopadhye's FB page , Google Plus
In the last article we have seen how Dr. Nikola Tesla developed his famous Tesla Coil and took great pains in improving his research to make it beneficial for mankind.
Dr. Nikola Tesla believed that it was ‘Impulses’ which achieved the transfer of electricity into the air. He also observed that, electrical energy was projected from the coil in form ‘Rays’ and not in form of waves due to these impulses. Dr. Tesla observed that these rays were absolutely longitudinal when traveling through space; he described them as ‘light like rays’ in one of his patent. This discovery shaped many future innovations of Dr. Tesla.
Dr. Nikola Tesla observed that Mother Nature too worked on the basis of impulses. Nature is flooded with impulses of all kinds. Consider stroke of lightning, the nervous activities of our brain, sudden occurrence of a thought or an idea, all natural energy movements occur as impulses. Dr. Tesla thought impulses were the almighty’s way of communication with everything (animate or inanimate); he saw that the impulses are present in the entire the Universe that is, in nature as well as in spirituality and devotion.
Dr. Nikola Tesla firmly believed in freely sharing what he knew and interacted with people without the slightest of hesitation. He regularly used to announce his new inventions through various journals and press conferences. Thus, News of his experiments started flooding every technical trade journal. The name ‘Tesla’ was everywhere. People were thrilled with the futuristic projections and visions that tesla described and demonstrated.
On 30th July 1891, Dr. Nikola Tesla was granted official citizenship United States. On 6th June 1884 Dr. Tesla had arrived in New York with just 4 pennies in his pocket and now, 7 years later he became an official naturalized citizen of the USA. His name was slowly penetrating every corner of the scientific world. Dr. Tesla often used to tell his friends that he valued the US citizenship more than any other scientific honor that he had acquired till then.
In the very midst of all this Dr. Tesla received an invitation from Lord Kelvin (Lord William Thomson) to formally address the Royal Society, London.
Royal Society
Dr. Nikola Tesla at Royal Society, London
Dr. Nikola Tesla prepared himself for the lectures, and carried every piece of equipment one can imagine for the live demonstration in front of the society members.
Dr. Nikola Tesla began the conference by displaying his preliminary work in Alternating Current system; he also demonstrated High Voltage and high frequency AC systems.
Dr. Nikola Tesla then demonstrated the wireless radiant electricity and openly discussed its principles in front of London Royal Society members. He also demonstrated Fluorescent lamps and tube lights lighting them wirelessly in his own hands while his tenor-like excited voice rang throughout the silent awestruck audience. These wonders held his audience spellbound.
He demonstrated wireless lamps, lit to full brilliance by radiant electricity. He also ran small motors at a distance of few feet working on wireless electricity. Those who had witnessed Dr. Tesla’s entire demonstration were completely thrilled at his results.
When asked to describe the experimental process by English engineers, Dr. Nikola Tesla openly gave them very strict procedures and descriptive parameters, yet very few people actually were able to reproduce the effects that Dr. Tesla achieved.
Dr. Nikola Tesla spent a few months in Europe conducting similar lectures and demonstrating his alternating current system. He also visited many other scientists and discussed with them about their work. He always respected the works of other scientists and was keen to studying new phenomenon. This shows that Dr. Tesla had an open mind, he never considered work of other scientists secondary to his own, and he always respected them and their work.
To the European academics, the lecture series of Dr. Nikola Tesla was astonishing. It was a glimpse into the future, so clear that few could argue with Dr. Tesla about them.
One night, while he was in Paris, he received a telegram informing him that his mother was very ill. He abandoned his tour midway and immediately rushed to his mother who was on death bed by then. Rushing to her bedside, he managed a few hours of conversation. His mother though very ill was very happy to see him; she greeted him saying “You’ve arrived, Nidžo, my pride”. He stayed by her side for long time
The coming night, Dr. Tesla could barely sleep, Dr. Tesla describes this in his own words as follows “During the entire night every fiber in my brain was strained in expectancy, but nothing happened until early in the morning, when I fell asleep, and saw a cloud carrying angelic figures of marvelous beauty, one of whom gazed upon me lovingly and gradually assumed the features of my mother.”
Duka Tesla
Duka Tesla
Duka Tesla
Dr. Tesla was abruptly awoken by this dream. He could hardly believe that he had seen his own mother ascending into bright clouds. Few minutes later he got the, news that His mother had passed away. On 1st June 1892, Duka Tesla had left this world forever.
Dr. Nikola Tesla was thrown in an ocean of sorrow, he had lost his father in 1879, when he was 23, and now within 13 years of this, he lost his mother too. The pain that Dr. Tesla experienced was unbearable.
Dr. Tesla was deeply hurt due to this incidence; he loved his mother a lot. He always referred to her as the only one who completely understood his abilities. She was the one who had encouraged him when he first remarked about his childhood visions. When siblings and friends ridiculed him, his mother was his firm and unshakable support.
He spent a torturous week in his native land for her funeral, he was depressed and this lead to sickness. Dr. Tesla had to spend two to three weeks recovering from this sickness.
Dr. Nikola Tesla had lost his biggest support, his beloved mother now there was only one support to which Dr. Tesla could look up to. It was the God, almighty and his mother, Mother Mary. Dr. Tesla had unshakable faith in his God and his God always gave him strength to face the most difficult situations in his life. His God had never forsaken him and always gave him courage to fight the world. With this strong support, and faith Dr. Tesla steadily recovered from the loss of his mother and returned back to New York where his laboratory and his work awaited him.
